EUDI Wallet / OpenID4VP

Authenticate your users via the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) and the OpenID4VP protocol.

The EUDI Wallet (European Digital Identity Wallet) is the digital identity wallet that every European citizen will be able to use to prove their identity, share verified attributes (diplomas, licences, qualifications) and sign electronically. Hextal integrates the OpenID4VP (OpenID for Verifiable Presentations) protocol to accept these decentralised identity credentials as an authentication and verification method.

In practice, a user can log into Hextal or prove their identity by presenting a Verifiable Credential from their EUDI Wallet, without needing to create a traditional account with a password. The OpenID4VP protocol guarantees that only strictly necessary information is shared — for example, proving you are of legal age without revealing your exact date of birth — respecting the RGPD data minimisation principle.

Hextal is compatible with the eIDAS2 ecosystem and the future EUDI Wallets of Member States. The platform can both verify credentials presented by users (relying party) and issue verifiable credentials — such as employment certificates or training certificates — that can be stored in your employees' EUDI Wallets.

Benefits

Passwordless Identification

EUDI Wallet authentication eliminates the need for passwords, reducing phishing and credential theft risks.

Data Minimisation

OpenID4VP enables sharing only strictly necessary attributes, strengthening personal data protection.

Verified Identity

Credentials issued by authorised sources (governments, universities) offer a higher level of trust than self-certified claims.

Future-Ready

The EUDI Wallet will be mandatory for many public and private services in Europe. Hextal prepares you today.
